Real situation

Margaret is 82. She's had a fortnightly clean with us for two years. Her last two visits didn't happen — one because her cleaner called in sick and nobody rang to tell her, and one she was never told about at all. It's now been six weeks since her house was cleaned.

She rings, very upset. "Nobody tells me anything. I've been sitting here waiting twice now. I want both of those cleans made up next week."

You don't know why the second visit was cancelled, and you're not able to promise her the make-up cleans.
